Just some afterthoughts

The other morning it was so foggy, my breath was freezing and the fog was freezing on my hair- I was determined to walk and try to get pictures of the phenomenon.
By the afternoon, the color was lighter and flashes of sunlight were coming through, causing a rainbow effect-I am proud of this picture

Baby cat is swiftly catching up to old Sambo

The light was so odd this day, almost as if it was going to storm at any minute.

Merry Christmas

A Mom and Pop Operation

I have posted these pics of my parents on this blog instead of "Oh, Captain" the family blog because you need to see how happy being stewards of the earth make my parents, especially my father. He has been honored for his natural methods of clearing-well, semi-natural, as he does use a few ingredients that might cause the unwanted trees some indigestion. But mom and dad carefully tend their 400 acre farm which technically makes it part of O'z Ark. On this particular day, I had gone with them to view the area that they had carefully sculpted and cleared with a cooperative effort between themselves and Matt Foster on the bull dozer. Everything is designed fort the best drainage and erosion control as only an engineer such as dad would provide. Their clearings and pastures have the appearance of parks and hunting grounds in England. Everyone needs goals and plans that will take hundreds of years to fulfill. This, in my mind, promotes the activation of those slivers of joy that make each day full of wonder and push, the push to go on, the push to mold your legacy as my parents have on the Republican Rd. in Fulton County.

Deck the Halls With Boughs of Holly

I freely admit that I am addicted to Christmas. I love the whole idea that you can drag out so much color and texture and leave the house dripping with green. I have saved my money each year at Christmas and used it to purchase more decorations for next year. There is always some neat new idea to be presented. I do have a house large enough to still walk once I get everything up. This year I did not put up the lights and greenery on my 50 foot porches as the baby is due on Christmas day and I won't be here for awhile after Christmas to take those decorations down. All of the things inside can stay up until I get back.

Winter Color

There is often so little chance for me to find color in my outdoor world in the winter. My obsession with my garden in the summer is primarily the color. I captured a front going through last weekend. The beauty, of course, is created by the sun going down and the front of clouds coming in over the top.
